Federal Opportunities in the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Sector

The US Department of Agriculture, Rural Utilities Service, Water and Environmental Programs provide approximately $1.7 Billion annually for rural communities to improve their water, wastewater, stormwater and solid waste infrastructure. Combined with $5+ Billion provided by other agencies, the Federal government is a significant source of funds for water and sanitary infrastructure nationally. This presentation will help students and mentors understand the funding / engineering / construction ecosystem, with a focus on where to look for career opportunities. Hot topics (current governmental priorities) including climate resilience, domestic preference requirements, and emerging contaminants will also be discussed.
