LSRPA Scholarships

The program takes travelers through Alajuela, Puerto Viejo, and Bri Bri, with the option of adding a week of Spanish Immersion at the beach before/after the program dates. You'll visit sustainable farms, local community development projects, nature and wildlife conservation initiatives, and more!

    Help Needed Immediately: Undergraduate Summer Student Interns

    The Rutgers Cooperative Extension Water Resources Program located on Cook Campus in New Brunswick is seeking several motivated individuals to assist with research on green stormwater infrastructure, help with rain garden design, construction, and maintenance, and conduct watershed surveys to identify stormwater management problems. No experience is necessary, but an environmental sciences, engineering, and/or landscape architecture major is preferred. Must have a valid NJ drivers license. Work begins immediately. 35-40 hours per week. Hourly pay is $15.

    Native Restoration Project - Part-time or Full-time Employment

    Participate in a restoration project on 200 acres in the NJ Delaware Water Gap close to Pennsylvania to create and maintain a sustainable environment. Work includes removing invasive species and replanting with native trees, shrubs, and perennials to attract local mammals, birds and insects. The first delivery of 1,600 native plants were received last week. Help is needed to plant and maintain these native species.

    In addition to reforestation, this group will be building an organic vegetable garden and fruit orchard with an emphasis on heirloom varieties. The project manager, Brad Silver-Smith has maintained organic certification with New Jersey for 20 years and he is looking for someone who would be interested in hands on experience in this field. They are starting construction on a 5,000 square foot greenhouse for food and native plant production to make this material available year round.

    This is a multiyear project and they are looking for students with an interest in reforestation, organic food production, and ornamental horticulture. Pay is $15 - $20 per hour depending upon education and experience.

    New York and New Jersey have set ambitious climate and renewable energy goals, and EnBW is committed to helping the states meet them.
